You know how sometimes when you are watching Elmo's World on Sesame Street you start bleeding from your ears and develop hysterical blindness? Well, you'll be relieved to know that Sesame Street: Elmo's Animal Adventures
causes no such side effects.
Each of the three episodes (plus bonus feature) teaches kids a certain aspect of the animal world in a way that is fun, entertaining, and educational. The first episode really cracked me up. Elmo and Telly are helping Little Bo Peep find her wayward cow (she was tired of those sheep always running off) by looking at animal tracks. When they need help with what to look for in the tracks, Luis pops up - literally - and sings clues for the monsters. Every time he popped up out of nowhere and started singing, I couldn't help cracking up.
In the other two episodes, kids learn all about amphibians and the different types of foods woodland animals eat. Each one held the interest of both my toddler and her parents.
For little Elmo fans, this is a must-have DVD - one parents won't mind having to watch over and over again.
I was provided with a free copy of this DVD for the purpose of creating this review.
Sounds like a fun DVD to watch. My daughter is learning about this at school right now and actually has a field trip scheduled at an outdoor center for further education. Lucky me, I get to Chaperone. Geena (my daughter) is a HUGE elmo fan and has been since she was an infant. There's one DVD she watches over and over that starts off with "WAKE UP". I really would like to break that DVD in half. It seems that every Saturday morning she has to watch it and that is how I'm woken up. "WAKE UP", she yells in my face. When I ask her why, she replies with "because Elmo said so!" Blah.
But if you said this isn't one of those videos that makes me what to pull every strand of my hair out and break everything in sight, then I must see it. I know my daughter will like it and my nerves will be left intact.
Thanks for the review!

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old - both of whom are fans of the little red guy...We don't have this one but would love to add it to our collection - I'm tired of Elmo's Potty Time..which by the way..has done nothing to inspire my stubborn 2 1/2 year old to actually potty..sigh...

My toddler loves Elmo, too. It must be the color and the obnoxious voice and giggle.
Thanks for the review. Wouldn't have considered this video otherwise. Will note it for my xmas list.
Thanks.
